Perth Trip:) Day 5 (Last Day)

We woke up a little early than we were supposed to as we had to pack our stuff. We brushed our teeth, washed our faces, changed and packed everything into our luggage and hand-carry bags. Our teachers didn't forget us today and he knocked on our doors so that we could go down for breakfast. We squeezed in all our luggages with us in the lift. When we were in the lobby, most of our friends were already there. We left our luggages at a side before heading for breakfast.
We boarded the bus for the Naragebup Environment Centre before having lunch then to the airport. We saw some turtles they had found and some snakes. :) They had many vegetation and some chickens. They also had a butterfly house with many caterpillars. They recycled alot of stuff and the building itself was made out of environmentally-friendly materials. They had fishes and many other animals. They showed us about worm farming and how earthworms were very useful. :)
Our last meal in Perth was Pizza at a restaurant. :( I would really miss Perth and it's nice weather and nice people and nice neighbourhoods. :) It was really peaceful (at least to us) and it was a fun trip. When we got back to Singapore, we have to start the enormous pile of homework waiting for us to come back. We got to the airport and had a toilet break before the luggage check-in. We boarded the plane. I had to sit next to another boy but was right next to the window.:) The plane taxied and took off. I saw Perth from up in the plane. It was a nice view, all the nice houses and parks and hardly any high buildings. As we went higher, I realised that the plane seemed to be making a U-turn before heading to Singapore. Australia was so big that even from that height you couldn't see the entire of Australia. It was more of a afternoon flight so we didn't feel like sleeping. Soon, we went up so high that the clouds were all below us. It was very cold outside the plane as we were so high. A few of us ended up changeling each other on a spelling game. We had dinner shortly after that the plane was about to land. I could see the entire of Singapore even though we were only a few metres from the ground. There many bright lights and high buildings that I could see. :( Back to all the homework. :(

Perth Trip:) Day 4

We woke up a little uncomfortable as it was a tight squeeze for 4 of us on one queen size bed. :\ My phone and watch woke me up  and I woke the rest up. We brushed our teeth and washed our faces. Our teachers said we either wore our track pants or shorts with either a PE shirt, Camp shirt or house shirt. Those who didn't have any of these had to wear school uniform. I didn't feel like wearing track pants, so I wore my shorts with my Green House T-shirt. :) Our teachers said we had to get ready by 7.00am. They would come and knock on our doors then we could head downstairs for breakfast. But, we waited until 7.20am but our teachers still didn't come. We tried calling their and our friends room, but no one answered. :( We( The 2 rooms of girls and boys on the 4th floor.) were about to go down, when our teacher came. They had forgot about us until one of our friends reminded them about us. :\
We had little time for breakfast so I didn't finish breakfast. We boarded the bus and went to the 2nd school, John Septimus Roe Primary School. This school was different than Anzac Terrace Primary School. They all had the  same bags and their uniform were all the same.
We went there and had a dance workshop.:\ Most of us had never really danced before, except a few who just did it for fun. ( Especially my friend who loves to dance K-pop.:D) We were kinda shy and most of us moved towards the back. Nearing the end of the workshop, we split into 2 groups, the local students and we coralites. The local students were quite good and when it was our turn, we all ran to the back. :)
After we had dodge ball and then it our school's Chinese and Malay dancers got ready to perform. The local students had many different groups and they also performed.
We had some sandwiches and a packet of orange juice each before heading for Kings Park for a photo session. At Kings Park, before starting our photo session, we had chicken kabaab. It was really BIG. I ate only half of it. :\
We took some pictures for our work before going to the city malls for free time to buy some souvenirs. We went in our colour-capped groups. I didn't buy anything EXCEPT a pen that had my friend's name on it. My other friend and I bought it by putting money together.
We walked to another Malay food store for dinner that night. :) This was the last day in Perth.:( The next day we were going to another stop and lunch and then the airport to fly back to Singapore.:(
We went back to the hotel and showered and started our work. We ate the biscuits I bought that day. We couldn't finish it so we gave some to the boys next door. We slept in our own beds that night. I had a nice sleep. Zzz...........:)

Perth Trip:) Day 3

Today, we woke up late!!!! We woke up 15 mins before the time we were suppose to assemble! We all rushed and thankfully, (:D) we reached there just in time. We weren't even the last ones! :)
We had breakfast and we thanked the owners for making our meals and arranging the activities for us. I liked the farm as it was very peaceful  and so different from what all of us see everyday. :') It was a 2 hour drive from the farm to the school so we slept as we had to wake up very early today. We were going to our first school, Anzac Terrace Primary School. :) I was very curious how they studied.
The teachers warned us not to speak to fast( like how we speak Singlish....) and not to say 'huh' so many times. -.-  It was a fairly cold day and as we were in school uniform( Girls in pinafores and the boys in shorts), we were quite cold. The school was extremely different from ours. :0 Their entirely school was single storey, our school was 4 storeys high; they had many playgrounds and a big field, our school didn't have any playgrounds and we had a field probably half the size of theirs; they bring their own food to school for recess, we had a canteen where we bought our food; their classrooms were colourfully decorated and their buildings were made of bricks, our school buildings were made of cement and our classrooms were mostly grey or blue. And although they had uniforms, their rules were very different. They focus on sports alot, and our school focused on studying all the time.:(
We went to the Caversham Wildlife park next. We went for lunch before entering the park itself. Our lunch was this huge burger with many fries and either a brown or blue ice-blended drink. No one really knew what they were so I just took the brown drink. I guess it was like Pepsi or coke flavoured. The burger was so big that i could not even finish it! :S I felt guilty about wasting food, but it was just so BIG! So, i had to throw it away. :( I was lucky didn't take the blue drink, cause the people that did, their tongues all turned blue. <:D  even some of the teachers' tongues were blue. (hahaha<:D)
Our guide was a nice lady who showed us around the park. We got to see the kangaroos, we were very excited as we got to feed them.:) I think the kangaroos really have a nice life, being fed by people while lying around. :| Their home was a grassy field with trees and a path in the centre. They ate quite slowly. Their tails and feet were kinda long and when they hopped around they would swish their tails here and there. :) After the kangaroos was the wombat. It was kinda cute and we took pictures with it. We saw the koalas next. Koalas sleep 20 hours a day! Nice life. ':\ But when we got there, a few of them were awake and we patted them on their backs. We took a lot of photos. Next were the Tasmanian devils. They were kinda small to be devils but i think they were just cubs. Their teeth were sharp and it came towards us when we were taking pictures. :\  Next was the best. The souvenir shop1 :) My friend and I decided to put money together to buy a bag for my friend. It had many colourful cartoon pictures of the animals. :)
We reached the New Esplanade Hotel and checked in. My room had 4 of us. We stayed on the 4th floor. The 4th floor only had 2 rooms occupied by us. 4 girls in one room, and 4 boys in the other. The rest of my friends were on the 5th floor with some teachers. We were told to change into long pants as we were going for a walk and it would be quite cold as it was close to evening. We put our luggage on the rack and took out our long pants or jeans. I climbed out of my pinafore and put on my jeans. I also kept my shorts at one side for tomorrow. We(the girls and boys on the 4th floor.) decided to go down once we were ready. After waiting for about 5 minutes, the rest came down with the teachers. We walked quite a distance and we reached a restaurant selling Malay Food! Most of us missed eating rice and we gobbled down the food. We laughed until all the rest were staring at us cause we were talking about our weird sleeping habits.
We went to the supermarket next and I bought a packet of biscuits to share. We didn't eat it that night but we did our work on the UMPCs. Unfortunately, due to my clumsiness, i forgot to save it before closing the window. :( Although we were suppose to sleep at 10.00pm, we only slept as 10.30pm as the teachers were a little late to collect the UMPCs.That night, all 4 of us decided to sleep together on the queen size bed for fun. But it wasn't so fun after all. :\

Perth Trip :) Day 2

The second day those with the alarm clocks, phones, watches.....woke everyone up at the given time. After washing up and changing, we went to wait outside as the cold was more refreshing. However, the door had trouble locking! :( i tried turning the key here and there but the door remained unlocked. The teachers wanted all the cabins to be locked but it reamained unlocked. My friends had to call friends from other cabins to help. But the door still would not lock. In the end, i found out that the door had not closed properly. I found a method to close the door in completely easily. i had to pull the gate in towards me a little before it would close completely. I thanked those who came to help me and i locked the gate. :)
For breakfast, we had scrambled eggs, baked beans, hashbrowns and fish fillet. We did not take very long to eat finish our food so, while waiting for the rest, we took some pictures and practically laughed our heads off. It was impossible NOT to laugh. :D
The first activity needed us to split into 2 groups. My group named themselves Shabalaba Ding Dong. Shabalaba Ding Dong was actually one of the member's facebook name. ':\ Both of the teams had to make balloons stand by itself, and it had to be higher than the height of the chair. We were given many balloon, tape and  a pair of scissors. In the end, i was not really sure which team had won. ':|
The next activity, was that an egg would be dropped from shoulder height and we had to prevent it from breaking. we built something like a nest to cushion it's fall. In the end, the egg cracked but did not break. :\
After that, our group formed one straight line and wrapped toilet paper around the line. we had to weave in between chairs and collect 4 different bottles, without breaking the toilet paper. It broke a few times, but we just held it together.
The last activity before lunch, they had given us 18 pictures of different places in the farm. We had to find at least 15 of these places and take pictures of them in sequence. So, to make sure that the other team did not finish first, we ran half of the time! In the end, we still won.
Our lunch was a little different this time. The teachers barbecued some sausages and meat. We each ate one big hotdog and some chicken wings. By the end, we were quite full.
The teachers gave us about 15 minutes to go back to our cabins to go to the bathroom and get our stuff as we were going to spend the rest of the day outside. I brought along my jacket, in case it became to cold, and my water bottle. When we gathered at the usual spot, we saw a man with his dog and puppies. He was going to be showing us the sheeep shearing demo today.
It turned out to be a hot day and my hands were full as I had to carry my jacket and bottle. The man's dog was very smart and knew how to herd the sheep. :) After the sheep shearing demo, we got to feed the oupacas and some of the sheep.
We headed to the winery where we had a wine-making talk. We saw how wine was made. :)
We got to feed the horses and then we headed back to our cabins for some rest and a shower. We went to the office at the designated time for dinner. After dinner, we had our campfire night. It was a peaceful night and we got to see the stars. ( There aren't many stars in Singapore.):) And the moon rising as well. ( I didn't know before that the moon can rise.) We roasted some marshmallows as well. :)
Our teachers accompanied us back to our cabin and we did some work and reflections and then we went to sleep. zzzzzzzz...................:)

Perth Trip:) Day 1

We boarded the bus, ready to begin the first day. :) We were told to sit with our buddies. My buddy and I took the 3rd row from the front. I decided to take some pictures of the houses, building, factories, roads, parks...... along the way.everything seemed so different from Singapore. Usually, in Singapore, around that time, there would be traffic jams on the highways as everyone would either be going to work or going to school.
The first time we experienced the cold was when we reached Monumental Hill. We got down the bus and walked around to take pictures. Although most of us had our jackets on, we still felt extremely cold. :O When it was time to board the bus and head for the Fishing Boat Harbour, most of us hurried back to the bus to escape the cold.
We got out our cameras and braced ourselves for the cold. When we got out, I felt that it was not as cold as before.  I looked up and realised that even Australian skies and Singapore skies had a difference. Australian skies seemed so peaceful. The clouds looked like cotton candy swirling around in a blue bowl. I immediately took a picture of the sky. There was a fairly small green field spread out in front of me. My friends and I walked towards the wall in front of the beach. The waves were not very big but it seemed so peaceful. I took a video of it.
We got some free time at the Fremantle weekend market. I decided to explore the market with my friends from the GuZheng CCA. Although we were not in the same class then, I already knew them in Primary 1. We wanted to get a few souvenirs for our friends who missed the chance to go. However, it was difficult to choose. We decided to combine our money and buy them something. We bought a packet of cute little koalas. After that, we went to buy a cold drink even though the weather was cold enough. ( We combined money again:).)
Next, was the CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Most of the chocolate were quite expensive, but there were a few that were still quite affordable. My friend and I combined money again to buy a small chocolate butterfly to share.
LUNCH. Our first meal in Perth. We went to Sweetlips for Fish & Chips. I sat with my friends from GuZheng again. We took more photos. When our food came, we were kind of scared. 2 big pieces of fish with a mountain of fries were on the plate. After eating half of one of the pieces, my friends could not eat anymore and had to give up. As i did not want to see it go to waste, I forced myself to eat all the fish. AND I DID IT!!!!!!!! But......I didn't eat finish the fries:)
It was a long drive to the Orchard, so most of us took a nap in the bus. We got to the Orchard, and had a tour of the Orchard. There were many orange trees, peach trees..... We saw how raisins were dried. Some of my friends bought some dried raisins, apricots..... It did look tempting but I did not want to spend all my money on the first day.
We proceeded to the farm to check in and rest. My cabin was number 10. 5 other people were staying with me. My teacher passed the key to me. the teachers let us have a shower and rest for about 1 and a half hours before dinner. We created a plan where we could save time and convenient (especially to those with long hair). We got quite a bit of rest. We explored the large cabin. There was kitchen, dining table, living room, balcony, 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets. I shared a room with my friend from Choir. 2 rooms had 2 single beds each and 1 room had a queen size bed.
For dinner, we had spaghetti and salad. For dessert, we had peach and ice cream. :) Going back was quite scary. The back of the cabin was the farm, but as it was dark, we could only see the crooked trunks of the trees. As the door was at the back of the cabin, we had to walk towards the back and our cabin was one of the most isolated. One side was entirely empty and the next house was empty as well......
We started our work( we still had work to do) :(. Before we slept, we brushed our teeth, drank some water and set our alarm clocks and watches to ring at the correct time in the morning. As we were freezing, we turned on our heating blankets. And I fell asleep. :D:)

Perth Trip:) Airports and planes

I was so excited as as we gathered at Changi Airport. All of us were looking around to see who else had arrived. The teachers came and we got into our groups. The Red, Blue, Yellow, Black and White caps. I was in the Red group. :)
We went to check our luggage in and get our plane tickets. It was a long wait, but i didn't mind because 2 of my best friends were there to keep me company.:) We talked about everything. I met their parents and their siblings. Most of the parents were still waiting for us to check all our luggages in before leaving.
As my group was the first in the line, we finished first and went to a corner to wait. My friends and I decided to take some pictures. Most of them were trying to avoid the camera. As the group at the corner was getting larger, the teachers did a headcount and the whole group of coralites went to the immigration.
We boarded the plane and all of us were quite anxious to see who would be sitting next to us. I sat next to the ailse on the left in the middle row. There was no one else in that row yet. I sat down and waited for the rest.
On my right came 3 boys and were supposed to sit next to me. To tell the truth they weren't as bad as some others. My friends were lucky. They sat together in the row behind me.
The plane took off and we all were waiting excitedly. Most of us fell asleep as it was a midnight flight. We only woke up when it was time for breakfast. After that, most of us had trouble going back to sleep, so we talked to our friends.
The plane landed and we went to the Australia Immigration. The teachers asked us to fill up a form and made sure that we did not have any food items. The immigration officers were very friendly and it went smoothly. :) We went for a toilet break before boarding the bus to begin our Day 1 in Perth. :D :)
